Activity Introduction: The course design includes four main parts: "Language and Text Courses," "Cross-Cultural Hands-On Experience Courses," "Taiwan Cultural Tours," and "Cultural and Ecological Site Visits." These courses are integrated with the three departments of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Providence University: Chinese, Taiwanese Literature, and Ecological Humanities. In addition to learning basic Chinese, participants will be guided to visit cultural and ecological sites such as Lukang Old Street, Dajia Jenn Lann Temple, and Jiji Weir. Through experiencing local life in Taiwan, participants will gain a deeper understanding of Taiwan and increase their knowledge of the country and the university.

3. Course Content:

   (1) Course Duration: 10 days per session, with 6 hours of classes each day.

   (2) Course Language: The courses will be conducted entirely in Chinese. (Teachers may occasionally introduce in English, and students with better English skills or Filipino students will assist with translation)

5. Enrollment Targets and Class Details:

(1) Targets: Filipino high school students or teachers with some basic Chinese listening skills.

(2) Class Enrollment: One class, enrolling 25 people.

6. Registration Method:

(1) Registration Period: From now until Monday, July 15, 2024.

(3) Admission Announcement: Announced on the College of Humanities and Social Sciences webpage of Providence University, and notified via email.

7. Activity Costs:

(1) The entire course is free, fully subsidized by the Ministry of Education.

(2) Accommodation and transportation costs are provided during the study period.

(3) Participants must cover their own airfare to Taiwan, living expenses, and meal costs for activities.
